Its finally happened, having a girlfriend and a decent job have totally and utterly n00bified me. I cant even seem to grasp the basics.

With this in mind I have decided to buy a new mouse. I have my eyes on the Logitech G5 as i have always found i play better with a wired mouse than a wireless. Is this going to help me get my skillz back? Any one else use this mouse?

I am currently using a Microshaft Wireless Optical Mouse with no extra buttons or anything.

I think im gonna have to go on the dole and dump the misses as well but thats a thread i will start in GD ;)

Cheers

Through the physical act of love .. she is secretly stealing yuor gaming ability, in the hope you will one day become so bad, you will infact take up decorating and shoe shopping ... it's a well known guerilla warfare tactic women use.

Practice is probably the best bet, but failing that, the G5 is a little overkill in my opinion, if you don't want to spend as much, the MX518 is fine, I've used them for ages.

Edit: Saying that, the G5 is only £5 more, so if you want to have the silly extra weights, go for it ;)

I prefer my old MX500 over my G7 for gaming ... I just never clicked with the G7, it might be the laquer type finish, that makes the mouse simply not tactile :(

I had ordered the g5 already but canceled earlier as it is taking too long (when u pay for next day delivery you expect next day delivery!) i may look around for the Mx518 then if u think the G5 is overkill. The only reason i miss having a convenient side button is so it can be set as the sprint button in ET. I can preform trick jumps far easier then!

I have never used anything fancy for gaming :p Basic Logitech Pilot is enough for me. Do the higher end mice make a great deal of difference then?

I feel for you :( It's never nice when you become a n00b again. Some good sleepness nights playing your game of choice should do it.

If you are an uber master like me then it doesn't matter what mouse you have*

*May not be true.

I used to dabble in a bit of ET ;) i think its about time i pulled an all nighter..... and guess what! im off work tommorow. Be back at 3 am for a quick natter and a coffee ;)

Cheers guys

/edit argh bad example. thats just shows me on an arty whoring mission lol

mx518 seems to be the best compromise between features and performance. they are still great mice, but for me the two side buttons decide it. that's why i took the 518 and its flawless.

I used my mx518 for years but have moved over to the G5 i dont think i could ever go back, the adjustable X/Y axis is just the best feature i couldn't live without it now.

im afriad its what happens. i lost any gaming skills i had when i started dating . You just have to practice when shes not looking..

Ive decided to train her up instead of kick her out in the rain. I got her on COD2 the other day and after about 20 minutes of trying to grasp movement she finally shot off a clip, missed completely and died dreadfully..... im going to start her training with a blast from the past. I think MOHAA single player will give some some valuable skills. Then move onto ut2k4 to get used to high speed. then onto online gaming. any other games u can think of that will aid her training?

/Edit

Stay away from the noob crowd! Buy a Razer Copperhead :)
I thought I lost my skills, but after fixing my pc back upto full stability and strength, I planned on have a quick 20 mins on COD2. Around 4 hours later, I came out with a top score of 50 kills - 4 deaths.
RRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWRRRRRR!
My gaming skillz will neva die, fo sho. Punk.

i tried a good ole boomslang back in the day and just cant get used to the length and feel of them mice. I prefer a shorter chubbier mouse.

i havnt had a gaming PC for a while, since my last PC died the closest thing to gaming i got was probs cruising on me 125, cooking or street biking (stunt ish but im stilla n00b.

im pretty scared of how my skill has died, iv been afgk for about a months and a half maybe... how long does it actually take for it to all go?

well ive been playing COD2 on and off but never really got good at it. i havnt been hardcore for about 6 months and im now pretty much usless.
