Lost Planet:extreme condition

For one of the best looking games I've seen, running at such a high res. with high settings, the occasional dip (ok, plummet :p) in FPS, doesn't bother me at all.

As for DX10. Don't worry, I hate Vista. :)

but its not maxxed out tho is it? and falling to 25fps is not good. need to maintain 60fps even as a minimum.

how does it run when you crank everything to its max setting?

you wouldn't even notice the drop if you turned the fps counter off, mine runs at an average of 32fps in dx10 mode and its very smooth.

Indeed, I used to be so anal about FPS, but tbh if you turn off the FPS counter its only when it really drops that you ever notice.

ouch, just when i thought the 8800gtx should run everything maxed out at such a low rez a game comes along and lays the smackdown on the gtx.
My P4 670J CPU is bottlenecking the card. Getting an QX6850 in a few weeks so that should up the FPS :D

right been playing this game some, whats the setting for in the gfx option? its called concurrent rendering and as default its set to on for me with a number of operations being 2. what does that mean?

Now that is funny :p

How many of the top lastest games that come out can keep 60fps minimun on hardware (single GPU) that is available at time of release......(answer = not many)

played the demo, which was crap performance wise, playing the retail now and i am very surprised at how well it runs on my ancient rig,and it looks real purty too.

graphics really are very good in this game. and the same goes for rainbow 6 vegas and also colin mcrae dirt. come to think of it all these new games perform around the same yet thier graphics are awsome. i could be that the code is as well optimised as its gonna get. unless i see a game that has as good gfx as these ports have yet perform faster i can;t really pass judgement.

I'm playing it maxed out @ 1920x1200, never goes below 25fps, perfectly acceptible for me

25fps + pad fine, 25fps + mouse very poor but as I play with the pad i'm not bothered tbh,

loving the game.
Turn shadows settings to low/med and leave all the others settings on high, and you should get around 45fps

(High shadow settings kill the FPS)

Do you really need a steam account to play this game.. tried loading game and it keeps wanting to load steam ?? why do I have to register my details online to play a game I have already bought... I then noticed the very, very small print on back of game case stating internet required.. bit of a con. Got a laptop for internet and an 8800GTS system for games...

it'll play ok on med/low settings, the dx9 mode isn't really that demanding
