I've been trying to maintain my weight of about 13st whilst not gaining.
I've stuck to a diet of 2x tuna/sweetcorn deep filled sandwiches at Tesco for breakfast 2x chicken salad sandwich for lunch, then 2x chicken and sweetcorn sandwiches for dinner, only trying this for two weeks before i rotate to some other food. It works out to about 2400 calories a day. Have been drinking about 3ltr water a day and having some mixed fruit salads as well now and then.
So far i actually feel slimmer after 8 days and according to the scales have lost 1/4 stone, even had to notch my belt one in! I'm 5ft 10 and medium build, 26. Don't exercise ever and work in IT, so not exactly active :D I thought around 2400 calories might even be pushing it, i don't exactly have a quick metabolism either and can get fat fast. Any ideas why i'm actually losing weight??

Well maybe you're taking in fewer calories than you're burning off?

You might have lost water weight, did you previously drink that much water? Also losting that much weight after 8 days might mean your scales are broken ;).

Why the rolleyes? Like i said, not exactly fast metabolism and not an active job. Just wondering if the food itself instead of the calories is making me lose weight due to its composition.

.... Eat more then? Why is it a bad thing you've lost weight? Also your diet seems pretty bland if all you eat is different flavoured sandwiches for every meal of the day.

You can have my weight if you want. Im desperately trying to lose it at the moment, but 3 weeks of going on the crosstrainer every day for at least 5 miles and a more sensible approach to food and Ive barely lost a kilo :(

5 miles on the crosstrainer?!?! How long does that take?
Also check the quantitys of food you're eating and dont drink anything other than water ;).

Define "sensible".

4 Big Macs, down from 8?

No snacking, light cereals for breakfast, lighter lunches followed by fruit later in the afternoon if Im still hungry. No crisps, no fizzy drinks (in fact, drinking nothing but water and fruit juices) and cutting down the amount of tea I dirnk.

Y'know...sensible.

I do about 8.5 kilometres in 35 minutes, that includes the 5 minute cool down period at the end. Today that worked out at about 530 calories.

Hmm I'm not sure maybe its the resistance of the machines in my gym but it takes ~10-15 mins to go one km =/. I tend not to use the crosstrainer, also have you increased the pace you're going at as you'll likely to be able to go further than previous due to increased fitness. Do you work the calories out based on heart rate or on distance? If it does it on distance it's more of a rough estimate.

This indeed, I only drink up to 1 half glass of orange juice a day after realising whats in it :O. I also tend to drink a lot less milk now.

Yup, well aware of that. I drink more water now, usually just have a glass of pure apple or orange juice with lunch or something.

I set the resistance to 6. Im going by what the machine tells me. How do you work out the calories using heart rate? Mine is up at about 170-180BPM (Again, according to the machine's sensors). I must be doing something right though, after half an hour I am drenched in sweat and breathing heavily, which is what I use to gauge a good workout :D
