Love Island star has had ‘serious conversations’ about becoming MP

How addicted to a forum do you have to be to ask for a ban just so you can function at your job lol

Tell me more about these ‘experts’ - and in particular their expertise because it looks like most of the current politicians aren’t very expert in anything other than **** ups.

Even if I let you have this 1 point, you still forfeited my other 2 points which you left out completely, so that is still a 2-1 NO.

They don't need to be qualified to be an MP. The only thing that matters is being known enough to get votes.
From the party's perspective anyway.

Not the first time I've heard of political parties trying to recruit love island ppl.

Regardless, an MP has barely any impact anyway, almost no point having them. It's not like people vote for their candidate anyway, they're just a proxy for the party.

Admit it: you would, wouldn't you?

Second hand cars, no problem, second hand outer garments, no problem, second hand shoes I have a bit of a ridiculous thing about. Second or more times women, no, standards old bean, standards. What did one of Molly's (Joe Don Baker) inimitable lines in the wonderful movie "Charley Varrick" state.... ??? ;)

Whilst I think it can be a good thing to expand the reach of Parliament beyond the usual career politicians, what exactly are Georgia Harrison's qualifications or interest in becoming an MP? As far as I can see, she's not had any long-standing political views and just because you've recently had some attention for something good you've done, it doesn't suddenly make you an MP.

Can somebody explain what I am missing?
She's basically doing what the current crop have been doing, in reverse.

Starts out as a reality tv coming from obscurity, makes her way to being an MP and then presumably heads off to eton to study PPE whilst getting drunk and smashing up the local eateries with a bunch of entitled (sometimes in both senses of the word) idiots.

I mean we've had what seems like half the current ruling party come from Eton where they've done a PPE in between smashing up the local restaurants, then got jobs at their dads friend's firm, then become a politician, before heading off to eat kangeroo testicles whilst still claiming their salary after being caught having an affair or having done some really dodgy deals, and then disappearing into obscurity when they realise they can't talk their way out of it and the public are fed up of them.

Honestly she's probably at least as experienced as half our MP's were when they got parachuted into safe seats, and she's actually got some experience of how badly thought out laws are ineffective and what is going on in something that is approaching the "real" world.

I would guess that it's more that its easier to not check if you can't post.

I know most of the comments are tongue in cheek but really it's a shame that he has quit posting. He contributed a lot to the career development forum and was very generous with his time especially to people without as much experience.

And he definitely kept the forums alive with his opinions on other parts of the forum.
