low memory ddr4 speeds

Hi

Looking in task manger windows 11 memory says my ram speed is 2400.

I thought normal speed would be in 3000.

I'm not sure if when I built this pc if I put RAM in correct slot,

Set XMP, rebooted now at 3200MHz, don't notice any improved performance.

XMP memory will boot up at a safer speed to ensure compatibility with PCs that are old, or don't support memory overclocking. As WARburton said, you have to enable XMP to get the full speed.

If the CPU is old and/or slow, I'd recommend some level of testing to ensure the PC is stable and you're not getting silent corruption or summoning the BSOD.
