Lowest ever MPG reading

usually hits between 3-5mpg when gunning it, I cant belive you get worse than that when im driving a yank mobile v8 and tomo an m5

As of the one before last RR, it's putting out 177bhp,

0-60 time, no idea. Never tested it. It's hampered though by 2nd gears ratio being low, at around 55 you have to change up.

I'll guess around low to mid 7's though 0-60

sounds about right. little flyers these :)

8.5MPG average over a full 100L tank or around 3-4MPG for short periods of time. The low 3-4 mpg can be explained and justify though so hear me out. This is off road in a Land Rover with a 3.5 V8 in, whilst being in 'low range' the whole time. Flat out in 5th in low range is about 30mph so spending the day in 3rd low range flat out trying 2 get up basically cliff faces hurts the MPG a tad!

For a tank average I have got mine to return as low as 14, which isn't actually that terrible.

Thankfully, the way I drive it day to day has given me an average of 27.7.

Lots of fun on country lanes at silly speeds. Basically.

9 miles, £15 worth of fuel.

how did u do this? what engine u got?

i did 100miles around snetterton and still only used £30 worth @ 18mpg

The lowest I've seen over an extended period in the S3 was 6mpg. The lowest I managed in the Civic was 13mpg over a full tank looning about in welsh mountains :)

Sub 19's on a full tank on the Hornet but that was 'spirited riding' ended all too suddenly while being flogged down a straight only to find as I got to the end and dropped two gears I suddenly had no engine at all, it then dawned on me that the normal cough/splutter that i'd expect if it needed to go over to reserve wouldn't happen if the carbs were drained quickly enough.

Thankfully the GSXR has a warning light for such situations, if it works.

my best to date is an estimated 7MPG, (I wasn't driving, but the car is mine... )

Early XJS 5.3 V12 (Silly thirsty, sub 20MPG under normal use), and a heavy right foot.

Muchos fun proving people wrong with regards to a heavy car not having an acceleration:D

Somewhere I have a photo of my trucks computer showing 1MPG average over 14 miles.......

The A37 near Bristol kills truck fuel economy! :D

The lowest I have averaged over a tank on the Z4 is about 22mpg. I can't get it under that without driving in a ridiculous fashion.

I got worse economy out of my old Seat 1.8T.

Shocking how low they can be considering aeroplanes manage over 25mpg.

you're comparing an internal combustion engine with a gas turbine?
fit gas turbines to cars and then we'll see what has better fuel economy.

the internal combustion engine is probably the least efficient engine ever :p

I've been hooning my MX5 loads and it still returned 35mpg on the last tank, and 38MPG when I filled it yesterday  Efficient little bugger

My Accord averages a fairly constant 30MPG, but I don't drive that in the same fashion. That's with a mixture of town and motorway driving to/from work. I expect if I redlined it everywhere it'd be down to the low-mid 20s

Actually not all aircraft have jet turbines. The Diamond DA20 gets 34.6mpg at cruise speed (158mph). It has a turbo diesel btw.
