i am looking at this...

and now i feel the urge to investigate

i notice this in the spec sheet, SSD support with SSD Guard™

anyone got any info on that feature? SSD guard mean it stops PerfDeg?

might have to get one for my Classified SR-2

I have the 9260-8i great card. Haven't shoved any ssds through it yet. But bought it on the back of this thread that I followed from the start:

Its a great read even if a bit long. Seems to be the best and easily the most stable raid card for ssds. Lots of problems with adaptec etc but this card is supper stable.

I've got the 4i but just running 4x1tb SATA drives on it RAID-10.

That OCZ thread is definitely one to keep an eye on as they're loading the 8i with 8x SSDs.

There have been a couple of firmware updates from LSI since I've had mine, so support is good.

Try and find out though if it's compatible with your mobo as it won't work with all of them (especially AM3 systems).

It also comes with a battery backup unit (about £135) to attach to the card (I bought one for mine) but a UPS would cover you as well.
