Luton airport...

Well, that's the next 15 years of Youtube restorations sorted then.

EV batteries by my understanding are generally pretty hardy things unless somethings gone wrong inside them or they've been severely physically damaged so having the car around them set alight would generally do nothing other than leave a burnt out shell and a relatively happy battery.

Yeah I had that a few years ago at Stanstead, parking the car was more expensive than the flights to Germany. Complete rip off.
Just sidestepped the Venus flytrap that is Gatwick parking.
Tip: If you are meeting or seeing off people at Gatwick, you can avoid the fees; 2 hours free at the Long Term Park - free bus to terminal.
But overstay by 1 min, and you will be stung £30.

Lithium batteries produce their own oxygen, they self oxidise as part of the chemical reaction when they go bad, makes them so difficult to extinguish and they can start burning again days later. That and the enormous amounts of heat they produce when they do burn.

Indeed. But, the fire doesn't spread the same way it does when a diesel fuel tank melts.

It’s interesting how the post rate dropped off significantly after it was established it was highly likely be a diesel car that started the fire.

If it has been a Tesla in the video, it would have been at post 350 by now with numerous smug ‘I told you EVs were bad’ type posts.
Ngl would love to post critical garbo against Tesla's, but alas.
