Hi all,

I have a M.2 question.

Currently I have a 250gb Samsung 951 AHCI boot drive.

I've been considering updating it to a 250gb 951 NVMe version.

What (if anything) can be done to transfer the data on the drive or would I need to reinstall Win 10 from scratch? I only have the 1 M.2 slot on my mobo.

I'm pretty sure that the answer is going to be a fresh instal as it is the boot drive and that being the case, I was a little unsure on the impact of the windows key being used on a separate hard drive. Thankfully it's a win 10 key and not an upgrade from an earlier version.

You'll need to mess about with 3 drives

1 - clone your existing M2 to another regular drive

2 remove old M2 and fit new M2

3 - clone the regular drive to your new M2

Fairly simple though your might need to tweak your bios setting for the various drives
