M.2 to WiFi card is it a thing

So I just put a vertical mount in my pc and thought poo… where dose my WiFi card go


My WiFi card is a TP Link WiFi 6 card and if possible I’d still like to use it.

Board is a b450 aorus pro, was think about the second m.2 slot

the pcie card is just an adaptor but wifi card is the same as you get in a laptop i know it wont fit into the m.2 slot as i tried and it smaller.
i was wondering if there is an adaptor and if so what type do i need

I'm aware of Key-E wifi, but not an adapter to convert a PCI-E card to a M.2 slot. What does the OP need to buy?

ive see a few adaptors but they turn out to be m.2(ssd) to the wifi slot

I think this is the style you're looking for, can't post UK stock as they're all competitors.

There's no simple way to mount it inside the case though.

There are also m key to e key adapters. That look like an m.2 ssd but let's you plug an m.2 e key wifi card into it.

Your wifi card won't fit in an E-key slot if it's an PCI-E card though.

Ah yeah that will work sorry. You'll need to connect the antenna somehow though, do they plug in to the small card or the PCIE adaptor?

into the card. the vertical mount as a honeycomb on the back so i should be ok to force the mount into that. i just ordered some 60mm ones as the 15mm on the card itself wont reach

Why not just grab a USB WiFi 6 dongle, theres plenty available, probably with better antenna's than your card has, so better signal.

Isn't this NGFF or whatever it's called? There are NGFF to m.2 adapters but no idea how well they will work.

Edit: Wait just looked it up, m.2 was called NGFF, but it's just a different key for this WiFi card. I had to look for "NGFF antennas" when I was replacing a friend's WiFi antennas that broke off from the PCIe bracket.
