M.Atrix or S.Arc?

If I were you I'd go for the Atrix because of the massive battery. People have complained that the software's laggy but Motorola have committed to unlocking the bootloader on their phones so you would be able to flash a custom ROM if you wanted.

Is that because of the Dual Core vs Single core processor you think?

The camera might be important for my wife.

Both can be as smooth as you want... the Arc is probably slicker 'out the box', the Atrix if you root. (I'd get the Arc for your wife tbh, unless it's too big?)

interested in this of course. Same number of minutes and data?

Did you pay for your handset?

Genuine question really.

+1

I'd sign up for a free SGS2 on a £11pm contract, where from Jim?

Where is it I can either get the Arc for £15 a month or the SGS2 for £11?

Currently looking for a new phone but don't want to pay a fortune and both of these look brilliant!!!

The Xperia Arc S is due out next week, so that gets you a 1.4GHz CPU rather than a 1GHz. I think they have priced it from around £350 ~ sim free.

Thanks to all the comments so far.

I'd take the Arc.. no the Atrix... no the err.. nope can't decide :D

Both are really good and the deal is bonkers, enjoy!

(Take the Arc if you don't want to mess around with software/need a good camera. Otherwise get the Atrix)

Yup, the deal is really good and about time I get rid of my troublesome Nokia 5800.

hey buddy, if it was me i would take the Atrix and root and rom it!

however i know you have given just the two as a choice...... but i would got for a Samsung GS2 or HTC sensation over them even if it did mean paying a little more. looking of HDUK for example shows some good deals on a daily basis. If your contract is up then haggling as well will help "i want the same deal but not the Atrix... then S2 or sensation.

Thanks Jimlad. I read the Gingerbread update is nearly ready and also 1080p video recording on another site so I'm more swayed towards the Atrix compared to the Arc/Neo. I've had a look for the Sensation/S2/iPhone 4 previously but no offers to come anywhere close to the T mobile offer.

If quality of video recording is important to you then I'd got for the Arc every time.

AMOLED? No, their both LCD's for sure and both LED backlit.

All modern LCD screens are TFT based (thin film transistor liquid crystal display), including IPS, PLS, S-PVA, TN etc. With TN being the cheapest.

I think spec sheets, blogs, reviews etc often mistake the TFT acronym for TN?

Did I dispute that? ;)

Im saying both are LCD and LED backlit.

Atrix is better as in car GPS, and it's got fantastic dedicated landscape mode car cradle, but it also has well documented bluetooth incompatibility issues and manufacturer software update schedule is just hard to accept.

I'd say unless they actually DO unlock the bootloader (rather than rumours, Milestone was rumoured to be unlocked, years later it's never going to happen), ownership of Atrix, will turn like any other Motorola androids, into endless chain of half baked, nearly bricked, "community" hack updates that won't address any of the design faults (bluetooth issue is a fairly incurable design problem that only M'ola can fix with proper kernel drivers)

The bluetooth compatability on my atrix seems much better that on my old desire.
On my parrot the desire would be 50/50 chance it would upload my address book and music streaming would sometime glitch, its perfect on the atrix.
