I want to install windows on my nvme drive in my M2 slot but the gigabyte bios does not recognize it as a bootable device, but it still does recognize the drive so it knows i have one in there....HELP

"does not recognise it as a bootable device, but it still does recognise the drive so it knows i have one in there"

Can you elaborate? It sounds like you're saying that you can't change boot priority, but that the drive is present in the bios?

If so, I would suggest just remove all other drives and boot the PC, it should just install Windows on the nvme without needing to change boot priority.

Thats right the drive is present in the bios, there are 3 tabs: SATA PCIE and M.2 M.2 is the only drive I have installed on the pc and when you click on the tab it tells you it is there, in my case it's the western digital nvme.

However when I go to the Boot Sequence tab and click on Windows Boot Manager it says "no bootable device found" so how on earth am i supposed to install windows on that drive then?

Install windows from a usb stick onto the drive, an empty drive will never be bootable
" We're not sure what happened, but we're unable to run this tool on your PC. If you continue experiencing problems, reference the error code when contacting customer support"

Thats all I get when I try to run media creation tool, what a joke!

Download the iso instead
Then use rufus,yumi multiboot,balena etcher
or any one of those similar softwares to make
your bootable usb instead

I'll try this tomorrow thanks but I don't like the idea of having to rely on 3rd party software to do what microsoft should be doing
One advantage of the 3rd party tools
Ones like yumi and ventoy
You can put multiple isos on them
For multiple different windows installer
Or for Linux or for tools to fix problems if pc won't boot
Or to remove virus etc
