Hey...

What are the mac mini's like?... im thinking of getting one and puttin 2gb memory in it...

would it run good? Ive never owned a mac before....but since ive lived with one of me flatmates ive used his powerbook loads and i really like the os...

ive got a 19"widescreen to go with it too... think it is wise waiting a few month or just getting one... just with it being core duo at the moment.. not core 2 duo... also with leopard coming out soon...

cheers.

Mac Mini's are great little computers, my brother bought a PowerPC one refurbished and it was excellent, very quiet. With 2GB's of memory it would be very nippy and be well equipped for most day to day tasks.

If you got a screen already, it would be a good choice plus they are bound to be upgraded when the iMac get bumped to a different processor.

pictures sorted :)

Agree with Will, mine is spot on no problems with it. I don't know how much difference the C2D will make but you may aswell wait for it.

So no-one seems to like the black MacBooks, hey? :(

I'll have to find a shop and try one...

I nearly persuaded my brother to get a Mac Mini to go to uni with, but he got a Shuttle system (or at least, he got me to buy the bits from OcUK and build it myself) instead...

finally got some pics taken of my final setup - still too many wires but not much i can do about that at the moment! Soundsticks II and WD MyBook Pro arrived today to complete the setup. Thanks to all those on this forum that persuaded me into finally going for a Mac!

What do you think of the ministack? A few questions, if you don't mind...

Is it quiet?

Does that variety have the USB hub, and power on and off automatically with the Mini?

Yes mate, mine is pretty quite. Heres a picture of the rear clicky. I leave mine on most of the time when I put the Mac to sleep and it does turn on/off with the system :)

I don't care what anyone says.

If you put your subwoofer anywhere but on the floor, then you are not going to get the true performance the unit is meant to give. I put the sub of an old set of creative speakers on my desk once thinking it wouldn't matter. After 10seconds of listening to it it went back on the floor.

Going slightly OT here :)
The Creature sub was designed from the outset to be put on a desk if you wished.

I should think JBL know a bit more about subs than you, so ner. :P

Back on topic, here's my setup :
