I've just repartioned my drive on my macbook to a 16gb OS partition and the rest for data. I want to put all my music, parallels images, photos etc. preferably even my desktop too, on my data drive and have the OS point to them? Is this possible? Cheers.

I partitioned it using the built in volume manager when I reinstalled OSX, haven't yet found a way to point my desktop etc. to the second volume. ITunes is ok as you can point it to your music and tell it to leave the music where it is but I haven't found out how to repoint my desktop etc.
OK, I've thought of 2 ways of doing this, though both have their own inherent risks so back up before messing around 
The first is to create a User's folder on the 2nd partition and then move/ delete the contents of /Users, and then create a symbolic link from /Users on the first partition to /Users on the second partition.
The second method would be to change the mount point of your Data drive to /Users. I don't think Disk Utility can do this directly though, you might have to resort using /etc/fstab.
