Mac music creation

[InsomniaCalls]

Hello!

Wondering if anyone can point me in the direction of a decent (free) piece of software for recording and editing music.
Something along the lines of Cubase but for OS X.

Thanks

Si

Garageband!

Is it any good then? I've got it installed but assumed it would be fairly basic in an iWeb type way.

It is, still worth a try as it's free (part of iLife). I think Logic Express is more what you are after though, and it's pretty reasonably priced. You can upgrade to the full Logic Studio later if you need to:

I'm constantly amazed by what I can achieve in garageband, it's basic but effective.
