Mac vs PC

The other thing's the general quality. You can spec up a random laptop, that'll have the same headline spec for a lower price, but it won't have the build quality, or the trackpad, or speakers which are as nice, etc.

The trackpad on my macbook was horrible compared to my other laptops, it's barely defined at all so you're always accidentally pressing it, or not pressing it at all. If you want build quality then go with Lenovo.

Me? Fishing for post count? Never...

Macs do the same job as Windows machines and Windows machines can do a larger variety of things. Why restrict yourself AND pay for overpriced hardware? I just don't get it to be honest.

Point me in the direction of something there's a market for without being told that you want it? :p

Just pointing out the fact that nobody professionally makes em besides apple. So dont troll about them being overpriced, they are only "overpriced" because you cannot afford them.

No they don't, you can run Winows on a Mac. If anything you have a larger selection of software without going the route of mucking about (OSx86).

It isn't overpriced, it's worth what people will pay. Some people will value the build quality, keyboard, touchpad etc. over just the base spec, others don't.

Why is that such a big problem?

Regarding the price:

So why on earth would you buy a Mac which is overpriced hardware and install Windows onto it when you can buy the same hardware at probably 1/3 of the price and install the same Windows onto it?

And don't say it's not overpriced because it so clearly is :p

They aren't overpriced.

Find a laptop with the same build, size and speed of the MBA... you're left with the Samsung Series 9, which costs the same. Even then certain aspects aren't as good.

All in one 27" desktop with an IPS screen? There's nothing comparable.

Maybe they have one of the best price/product ratios, but they were asking about build quality :p

If you give me the "Thinkpads are certified for use in space, that's what makes them such good quality" argument, I'm going to tell you that so is the iPhone 4. So it's not much of an argument on their quality. Unless of course iPhone 4s are as high quality in build as a Thinkpad.
