Umm, well if you don't want viruses why not just shove a linux distro on ?
Anyway, I prefer linux and I can use whatever hardware I like, unlike osx users I still acknowledge that windows can come out on top in some cases hence why for a gaming desktop it would be foolish to use anything other than windows.
I really enjoy linux, it's a bin daunting but I love the fact that I can perform very advanced functions with just a simple bash line.
