What does it do though, just show a number or something else?

It shows a number, you can click it for like 5 seconds and it'll calculate how many beats per minute it is.

Yeah but it just says iDisk.. usually the iDisk is named after your .Mac account (i.e. dlorey)

Do you have a dotmac account?

As far as I know mine has always been named after my .Mac account :(

Yep, that's why I have an iDisk :) It's just called iDisk on all my machines, don't remember doing anything special.

I might ring Apple, ask how to change my iDisk name then.. I swore I didn't change the name, if i'd had the option I would have left it as the generic title :(

The iDisk on my iBook is 'iDisk' but on my iMac it's my .mac name. I would prefer both to be named iDisk but I haven't found a way of changing it.

It was my dot mac account name when i just reformatted my G5 with RAID0 but it synced everything and just says iDisk now.

Strange!

I disable Dashboard, don't see the point and I prefer the RAM free.

I've now ditched the dashboard

The command (for those interested) goes like this..

  • Open Terminal.
  • Type in

    Code:
defaults write com.apple.dashboard mcx-disabled -boolean YES
  • Press Enter
  • Type in

    Code:
    killall Dock
  • Press Enter
  • Close Terminal.
