Very nice Mohinder, i'm hoping to have the exact same spec although I may find myself prefering to lounge about on the sofa with it than sit at a desk, although I guess i'd still need the larger monitor etc for the web design side of things.

What size is that monitor mate?

Edit: I rang up the education bit of sales tonight and asked about the student discount (HE) and he said 12%. He then went on to say he could do me the £829 2.2ghz MacBook for £786. That ain't even 12%?! I started to question him then he cut me off?!!

I was hoping to get the 14% which would make it just over £700. I don't know if I can stretch that much more, especially as I was in Currys today and saw a much better spec Tobisha lappy for £500. I know it's not Mac OSX but still.

Gonna ring up again tomorrow and have another go.

Just rang them again and they said with the discount it should be £713. Gonna have to get my girlfriend to ring up again and order, hopefully she won't get through to a clown insisting on charging me nearly £780!
 
Oh tell me about it, anyone else think it's a sheer cheek to be paying the best part of a grand for something and they can't even be bothered to pay an English person to speak you? I rang somewhere the other day, non Apple related and I got through to an Asian gentlemen who assured me his name was Steve Smith. :rolleyes:

Just as good as when I got it. Usually around 4+ hours when I fully charge it the turn down the brightness full.

Nah, not really. Just using it normally. lol. I don't know. I guess its taking it to-and-from Uni everyday.

How do you check what the status is? iStat menu pro thingy/widget says its health is 100%?
 
Ordered this yesterday, it came to £773 with the DVI adaptor and the 3 years Applecare. Lets hope it's worth it as it's a lot of money to me!

Got to wait till December 3rd for it to be delivered though. :(

On the email I got, it said iLife and then not installed next to it? Is that because it comes with Leopard and I haven't purchased it seperately as an add-on?
 
Well, just checked the Apple site and it was supposed to be here on the 3rd December (the guy at Apple said it wouldn't be that long though).

The expected delivery date has always been the 30th, logged on today and it says the 28th!

Checked the UPS tracking site and it arrived at the local depot this morning, hopefully I will have it today!

Expect lots of n00b questions. :D :o
 
:( This thread fails so much.

Its made me want a MacBook, but it won't be able to handle TF2. And I couldn't justify having a PC just to play one game.
 
Arghhhhhhhhh i'm so ******* annoyed/dissapointed.

UPS have tried delivering the parcel to my home when it CLEARLY had my work address on there.

Spent 40 mins on the phone trying to get through where they said they wouldn't be able to make any change to the delivery note as a first attempt has already been made.
