I always thought macbook where way overpriced but look at this spec almost identical, £150 cheaper mind you

It's not just about the hardware specs, it's the OS, bundled software and the general coherence of the whole package.

Or did you have some sort of point that I missed?
 
I agree with punky_munky, it's the whole packlage that makes it appealing.

There are not many cheap notebooks that you can get with a built in VGA webcam and bluetooth. I would also like to mention that the cooling system on the MacBook is one of the best I've seen on a notebook, the majority of notebooks have cooling vents on the bottom which are pretty useless as they are covered in normal usage. The MacBook isn't the coolest of notebooks but it is quiet, In OSX you can get a program called smcFanControl which you can use to turn up the fan speed which does cool it down.

The magsafe is definatly one of the best inventions ever, the amount of devices I've had to repair that use the standard pole connector is silly.
