Do franchised main dealers have some kind of returns policy i.e. if you're unhappy with your car you can take it back within 14 days / 1000 miles?
When I bought my Honda they offered this, but I was wondering if this was a standard policy throughout all dealers?
I have a friend who bought a 123d a week ago and (for reasons I don't know specifically) she is very unhappy with it. Are dealers obliged to offer an exchange? I know a full refund would be out of the question unless there was something seriously wrong with the car.

It depends on the reason, really. How comes she is unhappy with it?

I'm going to find out from her as she was vague when I asked.

No, there is no right to return a car you don't like.

Thought so, I told her this but was interested because it was something Honda were offering in April this year when I bought my car.

You can if you have major issues. I think 3 times within 6 months to fix major issues is allowed before you can actually request the car to be taken back and even then you will probably get a replacement. Although don't quote me.

:p

I'm surprised about that really, I'd have thought most would just fix/replace rather than allow a return.

As for the situation the OP's friend is in, it does seem like an odd thing to happen really, but then I guess some people just buy cars on whims and so don't know until after they have it if they would get on with it.

Sadly its not as clear cut as that, and can be a major faff.

Most Audi Dealers offer a 30 day exchange scheme.

Not for changing your mind they don't.

All the checks and double-checks should give you real reassurance. And even further still, Audi operates a 30 day exchange policy - so in the unlikely event of an irreparable fault occurring within 30 days/1,000 miles (whichever occurs sooner) – we will offer you an exchange. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Has to be an irreparable fault. Which is amusing really as what choice would they have if your car was beyond repair!
