Hi All,

I am so completely fooked off with the ****ty compatibility of CRY2 with my amd graphics cards!!! I braved the hype and bought crysis2, and I almost wish i didn't now.

I've tried numerous fixes, including downloading radeon pro and renaming my crysis2.exe to Fear.exe and setting the crossfire profile to that for F.E.A.R as suggested in some forums! But still no luck!!!!!!!! I am either getting horrible 40fps performance or extreme flickering during play.

Can anyone help me please? I'm getting sick of the stuttering frames and/or headache inducing flickers :confused:

Disable crossfire and play it with one card. Unless you have an insane resolution it will easily play at good fps.

That will surely work :)

My native resolution is 2560 x 1440 so with just one card enabled on extreme settings im averaging about 40fps and on high setting im getting around 55 - so not really ideal.

Are there any fixes at the moment?

Yea it sucks :(

I use radeonpro and set it to the bioshock profile but it's not 100% fixed. Sometimes have to notch brightlness up then down to fix it.

Or just quit and relaunch, but then i get the lost nanostuff bug! Grrrr

Only other possible fix is to :

Go into your Crysis2/bin32 folder & rename Crysis2.exe to Crysis2.exe.v1_1

Go into Crysis2/Backup folder & copy the Crysis2.exe.bak from there into your Crysis2/bin32 folder and rename it to crysis2.exe

I imagine this would break multiplayer so not worth doing if you plan on it.

Other than that you'll need to wait on ATi releasiing an updated CAP for the retail version.

Thanks for the tip MoodyB but unfortunately that hasn't worked either... Same coma inducing flicker just the graphics options patched to the v1.0 settings...

Hmm are there any 6950/70 cf owners out there playing this game in all its glory?

Yeah, buy a 590 to get the same fps as a 6970 crossfire config, wooo.....

wait.... I can smell something burning... :p

LOOL :)

If its any consellation, yeah I have the same problem 5850's in CFX. Bloom overdoes it and coma inducing flickering.
@ 1920x1080 I get about 35FPS with one card, to make it playable I have to use CFX but then its pants cus of the above.

I had this flickering issue on my 5770cf setup, but renaming crysis.exe helped :)
rename the file to the name of other game you have installed.

I'm using retail version
Radeonpro with bioshock profile and 11.3 drivers with caps
No flicker no bugs, still a •••• game though

Cheers for the info GJ02, could you tell me what fps you are getting with these setting? I'm currently uninstalling and reinstalling my drivers...
