Hey guys,

I've just bought something off ebay, when doing the payment via paypal. I have multiple addresses on paypal, one was for my student halls 2 years ago. I selected my home address as the delivery address.

I just checked the tracking and it appears to have been delivered in Dundee, where my student halls were.

I checked paypal and my only address on that is my home address, not my halls.

It appears EBay has somehow sent the wrong address to the buyer and it's been posted to Dundee instead.

Where do I stand? I can't contact the accommodation for Dundee university (I'm not even a student their anymore as well) to enquire if they received a parcel. It's also likely been delivered to the actual flat as well, so someones got my camera it seems.

Where do I stand on this, help :(

You choose what address is used when you go through checkout, I don't think Ebay can send anyone the wrong details.

Why can't you contact the university?

Get onto ebay and ask why they've sent it to the wrong address. If it's their fault, then they're liable.

Contact the accomodation office on Monday as suggested and see what they say. If you've still got mates in Dundee you could always ask them to stop in at the flats I suppose and ask the students if they've received a parcel in your name.

Good luck getting it sorted - I've had a company sending my post to the wrong address as well and they were less than helpful, even swearing blind that there was no possible way my bank card could have gone anywhere other than to the address on my statements.

Yeah, not the brightest thing posting your details for all the see. Might want to remove that.

Nothing a 5 minute google won't bring up but meh.

Term should have ended so the flats should be vacant :\. Guess I'll just wait until Monday.

Even the confirmation email from ebay lists the address with a nice little green 'Confirmed' next to it.

Most will be away :\. Plus it's been two years (changed uni and course), not kept in touch with many folk really. I'll be down in Aberdeen next week, guess a little day trip could be order to the flat. :D

What address have you got on your ebay account...

As they may send it to your ebay address and not your paypal address...

My home address and old halls address.

My halls was listed as 'primary' so I changed the delivery address from that to my home one.

On the item details page it lists my home address and likewise in the confirmation email, even says the address is 'confirmed'.

Not sure how they've got my old Dundee address. I mailed the seller to ask what address he used. Maybe Royal Mail tracking is dodgy and it's all just one big coincidence that it's Dundee. :p :(

If it wasn't signed for you may be able to organise a redelivery to your local post office.

I don't know what info you need - whether it's only on the 'sorry we missed you' card or whether the seller has it too.

Either way, might be worth looking into it being redelivered.

It was signed for, the proof of delivery signature isn't up yet. Maybe the front desk collected it. I can't see anyone being in halls this time of year.

It's most likely your PayPal address then, as that tends to be what Sellers see when they get the conformation e-mail from Paypal to say that you've paid. It will also let them know if its confirmed or not.

The only address I have on paypal is my home address, which is confirmed. :\

Haha wow, I should be a P.I.

Just scoured 'the student room' and searched my old address. Found someone that said they were going to live there (April 09 posted, so stayed the academic year just gone). Has all her details. Facebook time :o
