Hi guys its a long shot but i dont suppose anyone here has had this problem or seen a similiar problem before and might be able to help me.

I have just put together a pc for my friend with my old pc parts and when i load up wow in around 1-5 mins it does this to all the textures.

The setup is

Intel core2 3ghz
Gskill 2gb ram
Nvidia 8800gtx

Im thinking it either the memory/graphics, But the memory can run prime57 for hour and hour and everytime i run any graphics tests it can run them for hour aswell.

thanks for any help

**edit**

Took out noob comments from chat. sorry

Right I have the solution,
what you do is press eject on the computer case and then slowly take the CD out open the nearest window pull your arm back and push you arm forward whilst releasing your grasp.

is it a fresh install of wow? If not then run Repair.exe from within the wow root directory and tick all options.

Just about to try different driver.

I thought it was heat to begin with but it idles at around 60 and in wow its going up to 72. which seems ok right?

Also i should add just when it does this it flickers for a second and then its messed up.

lol oh wow i didnt even realise that was there!

My guild arnt very nice people i have to admit!

I will remove it if its a problem..?

Well duuh... can be classed as racism! so yeah remove or blur lol :p

Anyways, I'm pretty sure your problem lies in the GPU's memory, it's overheated or defective, this is quite common amongst MMO gamers weirdly.

PS: ffs, 2nd time I had to re write my post! =x

GPU temp isn't the only thing to worry about, my card did something similar even though it reported low temps - it was one single chip on the graphics card overheading thanks to poor contact with the heatsink.

He'll start having the shake's as he get's deeper in his "cold turkey".
Use this as a excuse to go outside tbh, i cn understand mmo in winter, but its a lovely sunny day and ur inside...

I love how it's perfectly acceptable to be a troll when it's about WoW, even though I don't see it singled out in the FAQ as an exception to the rule.

OP, looks like it's a dud card, do you have any other games you can try? :)

I was getting weird textures in WoW and WAR with the newer drivers on my 8800GTX. Thought mine was on its way out but rolled back to 182.50 and all is now fine.

Shame really as I fancy a new gfx card but the GTX is still going strong and copes with everything I throw at it.
