Make linux look like OSX?

Everything I have seen whilst searching has been pretty poor when compared to OSX.

Has anyone seen anything that is able to make Linux look and behave like OSX convincingly?

I've never had the inclination to do this myself, but I'm sure there are plenty of guides out there for the respective desktops that can be followed to make them more Mac-like. Until Unity happened I'd have just said "install Ubuntu." :p

Seriously though, as well as finding guides for Gnome, KDE etc. there are also distros you can grab that specifically cater for this. I'm not sure which ones do it, but I just heard about Pear Linux (the Comice version). There are bound to be others like it.
 
I guess that's a no then....Pear Linux seems to be a relatively new clone but looks nothing like it (if you have used the real thing)

Linux just looks too "comic-y" and unprofessional for my liking. Dated.

Have you tried Bodhi Linux? It is based on the Enlightenment desktop which has pretty as a core feature. It's not OSX-like but it does look really good.
 
What? Yes I'm serious. If you don't think Enlightenment looks good, and if you don't think Gnome, KDE, Openbox or whatever can be made to look like OSX, then you're a lost cause mate.
 
You're probably better off just getting a Mac and using OS X. I don't think you'll find any of the ways of mimicking it with Linux to be pleasing. It's easier to mimic the look of OS X than the feel, although both are (to an extent at least) possible, but you'll never get it spot-on.

I do apologise then. Based on the pictures I found on google, it looks very dated to be. I don't necessarily want OSX, I just want something that looks professional. Every linux distro I have seen to date looks cartoony...maybe its just me!
 
Strangely, I thought the same about OSX, it looks like it was designed for a child, in my opinion of course. I'm coming from mainly a Windows background, although I do use Linux a reasonable amount.

Have a good old trawl through Distro Watch. You'll find something. But as JHeaton says, you're unlikely to find anything totally pleasing. I honestly think you should hack something together yourself using one of the aforementioned distros as a base.
 
It's been a long time since I saw an OSX desktop, but the end result of that looks pretty close to me...?

Anyway...Macs are toys! :p
 
If you love OSX so much why not install it. Im sure you can find out how if you look about.

Personally I don't find OSX the holy grail of operating systems which should be emulated by all others. I'm sure you could find a distro you are comfortable with if you try a few. Try to be open minded and consider that there may be other ways to do things that could be as good or better, but may take you a bit more getting used to.

Mind boggling .... and totally agree. If your after looks pimp out your compiz then compare to OSX

I have OSX Lion and let me tell you I've done everything in my power to make it linuxy :D, I mean I develop on apple (if your planning to do this I suggest you get yourself a Mac MINI, hackantosh won't cut it) but I have tmux,zsh,vim, macports, etc.. installed because without them OSX will just be another windows that doesn't function without a mouse

... in short without a terminal I would find OSX very difficult to deal with, I mean I find it difficult to navigate for files ffs :( using the gui

The are certain things that I don't like about osx, but I do think it looks very professional which I think Linux lacks. I am simply trying to make Linux look better so wanted to take a few things from osx.
 
Have you tried the Gnome 3 desktop? I'm not a huge fan but it certainly looks the part.
