A more powerful psu does not make any difference to the pcs power usage.
Yeah I think he knew that and was waiting to slate him

"a typical PC left on for 24 hours a day, 220 days of the year, is responsible for up to a tonne of CO2 over a 3-year period."
Something for us geeks to think about

Say for example a PSU is 80% efficient at 80% usage and 70% at 70% usage (which is about right for most quality PSU's) then you would get this (using power consumption of about 420W):
The 520W PSU would use 503W to power the PC
The 600W PSU would use 546W to power the PC
So the 600W uses mor power to power the same computer.
And I worked out the average PC would use about 150-200W if on 24/7, which to me sounds about right.
A PC using 150W on 24/7 will use 1,314KWh and produce 2.5 tonnes of CO2 to run.
Oh and a TV on standby 24/7 will use less than 35KWh per year (releasing 22Kg of CO2 per year for the electricity)

Yep it's all a load of nonsensejdickerson said:If the UK population cut out ALL carbon emissions, and I mean, down to the physically impossible zero, the effects of this would be negated by China alone (not even mentiong India) in a few years.
Why, therefore spend millions upon millions trying to solve a problem that will happen anyway? I read with dismay the other day how the UK had bought loads of rotting veg in Thailand I believe to offset our emissions.... clap. clap.
