Makelele threatened with 2 game ban

The rules actually state that he is risking a ban if his club refuses to release him if he is called up for his country. Chelsea havent refused him premission to play, so it wont come into effect.

Mourinho, or someone, is getting theie wires crossed, or is simply being told stuff by someone who doesnt know the rules.

With all the money in the game nowadays, its prety alarming that such misinformation can be passed this far along the line.

Not sure what you mean by that?
It seems to me that Chelsea are just giving Maka some deserved support, he wants to retire & Domenech is basically saying he can't without punishment, that's just wrong.

It would be 2 games for each one he missed, ie v Georgia & Italy.
