Bit of a noobish question.
I have just got a new external hard drive, and was trying to format it and partition it.
on my computer i have a C drive which has the opporating system on, and a D drive which is partitioned off the c drive that contains my data.

Now when i was trying to do the external hard drive i clicked the mark partition as active. I think i shouldnt have done this.

What do i do to undo it?

I think i shouldnt have done this.

For some reason that bit had me in stitches. I could just picture your face, lol.

Aaaanyway, if you disconnect the external drive i would have thought it would search your only installed hdd for an active partition to boot windows from. If it does, can you not re 'active' it in Computer Management?

I have took out the external hard drive.
So i can now only see the c drive and d drive
I can make the D drive as active but not th c drive,
what drive should be set to active?

Lol it was a silly

oh sorry, i slightly misunderstood. I think you'd better delete your D: partition, it will then make C: active again. The partition with the OS should be the active one.
