Making rice non sticky

I chuck in some olive oil when I make rice. Seems to do the trick.

Everyone does this so complicated, whats wrong with rice in dish plus water them microwave, never had a problem doing that

If you cant pick the whole bowl of rice up up one big blob with a chopstick then it aint proper rice.

Not all rice is meant to be sticky. Depends on what you are having it with. Although if I am eating boiled rice with chinese/japanese/thai food then I agree it's nicer if it's sticky.

Buy a rice cooker tbh. Never burns and the pot inside is teflon coated

I usually:

Add rice to the pan,
Add some turmeric
Add 3 cloves and 3 cardamon pods (spelling?)
Add water to cover by an inch or just over
Boil, leave to boil heavily for 5 minutes, turn down and simmer

drain rice, wash with boiling water from the kettle, drain again

Nice, fluffy, yellow pilau basmati rice
