You do sound 17 I have to say.
I have in no way been brainwashed by the media as you suggest.
I have been there as a younger person with regards to racist and homophobic comments that I have made which tended to be as a crowd follower.
Now I am 35, have life experience and have worked and socialised with gay people and concluded some years ago that it has no detrimental effect on my life and that these ' not normal ' people are in fact quite normal and decent folk who mostly want to live their life the way they choose to live it with the minimum of spotlight.
I have my opinions based on real life experience but I confidently surmise that yours are not. Who is truly brainwashed here ?
So therefore anything that isn't procreation isn't natural? That's kissing, hugging, talking, oral sex..The ability to procreate.
Wake up, we need to stop the ***** of the world from popping out 'little miracles' every year, not encourage them.
The 'natural' thing is a crap argument anyway. Computers, cars and phones aren't natural, so what would it matter if homosexuality wasn't?What makes hetero- sexual relations natural?
Because they shouldn't have to hide it. The law should be there to protect, not to persecute. Hopefully the plight of these two people will go some way to changing the Malawian stance on homosexuality.
tbh i think we need this in england. best decision ever made by a judge.
no offense to u guys but homosexuality is just wrong... its unnatural...
i mean if your gay ...just keep ure mouth shut and do it in private... not all this gay and proud bull****.
jeez wat is the world coming to?
It would have been barbaric in the US in 2003, just the same as it was barbaric in the UK in the 50s. It is our maturity as a civilization that allows us to look back and see how we were wrong to do the things we did. Learning from how we made those mistakes is how we can avoid making more in the future, rather than using them as an excuse. In the US half of the country had sodomy laws until 2003, how is it barbaric in Malawi now and yet it would not have been barbaric in the US in 2003.
As I mentioned earlier, the age of consent is a different issue - it raises questions of maturity and the risk of abuse, but it is quite different to openly persecuting consenting adults of sound mind that are causing no harm to anyone. If someone was caught having sex in the UK with a 13 year old, they would be prosecuted and probably receive gaol time, is this barbaric? In Spain it would be a perfectly legal act, should we call ourselves barbaric because others have a different take on a moral issue?
UK gay rights campaigner Peter Tatchell pointed out that the laws under which the pair were convicted were introduced during British colonial rule.
"These laws are a foreign imposition. They are not African," he said.
Backwards and barbaric, but it does beg the question that they're aware of the country's laws, so why flaunt it openly?

A pointless analogy, as there isn't.So if there was a Law saying you couldnt go with women you would obay it?
Think you'll find we need to have more children!!

Can...worms..........
I just feel that it's really not natural and is being forced upon us (and the younger generation) via the media far too much.
And who are you to say whats natural?
