Malaysian Grand Prix 2015, Kuala Lumpur - Race 2/19

Its Malaysia, I don't think there is a middle ground is there? ;)

Its either dry, or a monsoon.

Fair point. So here's hoping for the race stewards to let the alleged best racecar drivers in the world (that Venezuelan **** notwithstanding) in the alleged pinnacle of motorsport have a bit of a go in the rain ;)

**edit**

Every single year there are predictions for "thunderstorms" on the Sunday in the week leading up to the race... how many wet races have we actually had? Two? 2001 and 2012?

Would have thought you'd remember 2009, since the rain and the later starting time caused the race to be called early!

I don't think they're worried about the driving standards as such, more it's the quality of the wet tyres and upwash lifting the water into the air. The visibility now is generally worse for a similar amount of water than it has been [old] in years gone by [/old].

The issue is how long they keep them behind the safety car before letting them go, to the point where they usually pit for inters in the laps immediately following the green.

No matter how good a driver you are, F1 cars start to float once theres more than a cm or so of standing water.

Parading around behind the SC for 20 laps is retarded I agree. They need to learn to red flag as soon as they know they won't be starting for a while.

"I need a clear visor!"

"Felipe baby, stay cool"

See, even after reminding me, I still can't recall anything of it, other than the "Felipe baby" as Skeeter pointed out. I was obviously half-asleep for that one. :D

It was the first year that they pushed the start back.
Everyone said it would rain. It rained.
Button was in the lead in the Brawn when they red flagged it.
Some people sat in the cars waiting for the restart they knew would never come.
Some people got really uptight and cried down the radio about clear visors (Massa :p).
Kimi went and got some ice cream.
The race was never started and everyone was given half points.

Wasn't the highlite pit lane boat races. Although they've done it a few times. I think Japan was the biggest boat race battle.
It was worth it just for the Massa song.

I so hope they have a big bust up. It's not true F1 with out all the soap opera.

And had to go dig it out.

More Renault/RBR beef, this time Renault accusing Newey of 'lies'.

http://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/renault-f1-chief-accuses-newey-of-lies

Will any engine company want to work with them soon?

When they won, it was despite the engine being pants.
Now, they're not winning it's because the engine is pants.

The bit with the Red Bull part numbers are all perfect...

It's just like Ferrari used to be. The sleek, gleaming red bit is Ferrari. The black smoke and oil belching bit is FIAT.

Renault will buy STR. They will fall out with RBR who will then go begging to Ferrari, and they will then sell the team and go sponsor some boats.

Absolutely.

As much as Renault have been a disappointment this year it seems rbr really do have short memories. I really don't see other teams moaning quite as much.
Or making themselves basically look like [insert expletive].

The amount of pettiness is really not making them look good

In far happier with merc dominating due to their team orders stance than rbr.. Just a shame Hamilton may dominate!

Really hoping Lotus do well (can't do worse) as I definitely put this track in top 3rd of tracks

If it really rains someone just needs to have to the balls to red flag
And it will be obvious if it needs to stop there hopefully
I will not watch now with postponement after postponement with the inevitable outcome of no restart

Just spotted that both Horner and Abiteboul will be in the Friday Press Conference, oh and Franz Tost :D
Amazing.

Abiteboul Tweeted a picture of him packing boxing gloves ahead of his flight :D

Alonso is also scheduled to be in the DPC, I can imagine what most of the questions will be about. Rest of the drivers might as well go back to their motorhomes.
