At this point, lets say Merc's pitted lap 3, not sure which lap it was tbh, that is effectively 2 stints of 26 laps each on the tires. Vettel is now doing the rest of the race where effectively he has done 18-19 on first set, 20-21 on the next mediums and only 17 laps on the hards.
Merc stupid race strategy, it's now too late, had they done 2 more stops they could have done the last 15 laps faster. It's also as Ham now saying, unlikely even the hards will actually last 26 laps per stint at even this pace which isn't fast enough.
Merc have ruined the race, completely. The past 15 laps needed to be 1 second faster with the intention of the next two stints also being faster.
