They absolutely would have, Merc just being girls. Almost every race they use heavily used Q2 qualifying pace tires and that is what Vettel was on and did almost 20 laps on full fuel. That last set were the Q1 tires, less laps and a lower pace, pushing less hard. They would get to the end, Merc just stupid.

Maybe, but Hamilton doesn't seem to be getting a lot out of the tires today before complaining they have gone off

It's not about Rosberg letting him in, it's more about him holding him up for enough time that any chance Hamilton had of catching Vettel would be gone.
