Hi guys need Abit of help, where's the cheapest place to book a holiday to the maldives ? Also what others places are like the maldives where the cabins are in the water ?

Depends where you go in the Maldives but for a cabin on stilts over the water you will be paying a premium even on one of the cheaper islands.

If you are looking to go to the Maldives thn you shouldn't be thinking cheap.

Watch the island president instead.

Looking at this too currently for Honeymoon in September. Try Travel Lab or Purely Maldives as were recommended on Trip Advisor Maldives forums.

Guy from my work is going for his honeymoon. 2 weeks and its costing him £6500. Not sure if that's including spending money though

We stayed on chaaya lagoon hakuraa huraa in a water bungalow, it was quite a big island and primarily caters for Chinese guests, who are insane! We much preferred the first island we went to which was Makunudu, it was much smaller and friendly, just beach bungalows - it felt more special, whereas Chaaya was more mass market.

Don't you think the uk should take over these small islands, then we can make great holiday locations, we just deport the locals to the uk and give them welfare etc.

ouch, we're going to Mauritius in 3 weeks for a 3rd of that price. I'm sure it was amazing, but 6.5k? wow.

Seychelles, Phi Phi island (Thailand), Mozambique, Zanzibar?

Just had a look and it does seem less intimate than some of the other smaller islands. Why are the Chinese insane?!

They just spent their entire holidays wandering around with tripods having random photo shoots in the sea, on the pier, in the restaurant. One lady got decked out in her wedding dress/makeup/jewellery over several days working through every possible location on the island.

Oh and couples with matching outfits, there were 3 couples that wore matching outfits (different matching outfits each day).

yeah gf just said that to me, will be quite a bit cooler in May when we go. Guessing it was 5* and all inclusive?
