Man city escape ban! Or did they? [Update 6/2/23]

Must mean the end of their spending for now. Can’t see them being able to splash out £100m+ on a star player with all this going on.
This could drag on for ages so they will probably spend the same I'd imagine especially of they belive there genuinely in clear.

Be interesting to see if there found guilty if pep sticks to his words and walks away

I doubt many top players would feel comfortable about going there now, at least until it’s all done and dusted.

Of course Pep will walk away. He won’t stick around with transfer embargoes and possible relegation
They would probably still go and just get clauses put into contract to protect them.

Re pep we would have to see, I reckon he would walk if he could get straight into another role or back to barca for example

So if City are guilty of what people say the guilty of where does that leave PSG? Surely they must be doing something fishy in a league that doesn’t generate what the premier league does. Neymar and Mbappe alone is nearly half a billion.
PSG don't sign as much as city so they probably cover it up easier I'd suspect.

Didn't they get investigated for Neymar? As they paid his dad money if I remember correctly

That's not quite what happened though. They were found to have breached FFP in 2014, they were fined and given other punishments - they had a reduced CL squad size and had a spending cap for the following summer iinm. Football leaks then exposed further violations, including City's sponsors not simply being inflated but actually being paid by their owners, there were documents that suggested City had been paying Mancini part of his wage via an Abu Dhabi club and a few other bits and pieces. Based on that UEFA charged them and hit them with a CL ban however when it went to CAS the ban was overturned because UEFA's own rules stipulated that there was a time limit for UEFA to press charges which had passed. City were still fined for their failure to cooperate however the CL ban couldn't stick because of UEFA's own rules.
Which is uefa incompetence too, they would have know of time rule before you'd of thought

There's talk about Saudi putting in bid for Utd over the next few days. I really hope Utd will not go the route City did. My way of thinking is, When City was taken over, the new owners wanted a title winning team in as little time as possible, hence, all this dodgy money stuff. Utd on the other hand have a possible title winning team, a massive fan base, world wide market and massive income. There is no reason for any State owners (if we end up with one) to do dodgy stuff like City did.
It's also unfair to assume they would do the same, I mean yes Newcastle have spent but no where near as much as City did initially
