Personally I think putting someone on an ignore list is a bit ignorant.

The whole point of the forum is to see other views on the same topic/subject.

Not if you think they are a complete stroker and their opinion incenses you to the point you may lose control and post something that will get you a holiday. It's actually a valuable feature of the forums.

First ask the post politely to refrain from such, it is not always the case that the offeding post was intended to be offensive or a personal attack....if it continues use the RTM facility and let the Moderation Team decide a course of action.

Surely whether it is deemed a personal attack is down to who's side you look at though?

I know I'm on at least 2 ignore lists, I seem to be able to antagonise people just my voicing my opinion, and they bring out the worst in me when they call me a troll, when, from my point of view, I am trying to defend my opinion. Hence why the ignore button is useful.

The ignore facility is useful....I have used it on occassion, only to ignore a couple of people for a short time because they are being flids and I can't be bothered with them.

They are released from Castiel Purgatory after a few hours normally.
