Talks broken down with Gibraltar casino for £65-70million over four years :eek:

That's significantly more than Chelsea's current deal.

I hope we haven't missed out here, and there's something equal or better in the pipeline :cool:

Im hoping we dont get one so they have to release a shirt for the start
of the season with no sponsor on

Then after a few weeks some cash monger comes along

Not going to happen really, penalty payements in the contract with Nike which we'd have to pay which the Glazers would definately not want. Nike make money on our shirt sales, shirts with no sponsors wouldnt sell as well, so Nike lose money, hence the penalty clauses for such eventualities.

Be interesting what they got lined up, either more money or maybe more of a possibility a deal with different conditions. The only problem is if Anson (who now thinks he runs United) was bluffing for more money.

What with Budweiser being a major sponsor anyway it seems likely

I think it wouldnt effect the sales , it looks better and is much cooler not having a sponsor.
Like Barcelona its classier.

Not that it would make much difference to me , I havent bought a toon shirt since about 1995.
Id never wear one anyway.

Its with a large american insurance company apparantly. Apparantly its a better prospect even if its worth a few million less (not sure why exactly - stability of the sponsor company and some insurance deal for ManUtd maybe?).

As rumoured new sponsor seems to be American International Group (American International Group).
