biggest regret as a man utd fan that they never paid the 12 million for him when they had the chance!!! gutted!

We did have the chacne but the incompetent buffonery of Peter Kenyon ensured we managed to clutch defeat from the jaws of victory. Not to mention Barca would always outbid us on personal terms

True, but has anyone seen Footballers Cribs on MTV, Ronaldinho was on one of them, JezUS, you should see his house!

He would be adored by us if he joined us but when you see his lifestyle in Spain it would be a very hard decision for him to leave.

There was a good documnetary on the Beeb about 6 months ago about the first year in the life of the Barca Chairman and it had some good footage of when they were negotiaiting for Ronaldhino. It was touch and go whether he would goto Barca or OT. Pretty much changed his mind on the last minute to go there.

The other big sponsor in for us was Mansion who reportedly offered £70 million, but were turned down for AIG. I've got a feeling it's to do with being offered more money up front as opposed to spread over 4 years. So we may have half of that £56.6 million this summer for transfers.....or to pay off Glazers debt interest... :eek:

Either way you don't turn down an extra £15 million if there isn't some other perk to the deal.

From what I understand UTD got cold feet because the deal with Mansion was worth £70million. Part of this was a share in the companies venture in the far east whereby AIG is a deal that offered more cold hard cash than than Mansion.

One thing is for sure the Glazers will not be taken for a ride like when Uncle Cuddly Pete was at the helm

Very true, Kenyon despite being a lifetime Man Utd fan was only out for himself in the majority of his dealings for us. Good riddance. He's already despised at Chelsea by some people, I don't think he'll be there in a few years time.

Supposedly the mansion deal was called off as they weren't happy about being sponsored by a gambling company.. something to do with the legality of gambling advertising in certain countries around the world (including the USA).

Yup and that they are part owned by a very shady Indonesian tobacco company. Plus AIG have links to one of the Glazers hedge funds so the best deal all round by the looks of it. Done quite well, a nice increase of £5.1m a year on the Vodafone deal.

Dont expect it to go on players though, repaying the debt will be the first priority.

How bothered do the players look?!!
