Only caught the second half as had footy training. We looked reasonably comfortable, Fletcher had a cracking second half, one thing I've not noticed before is how fit he is, he really covered the whole pitch tonight.

Ruud should have scored a couple, obviously the penalty (which I did feel was a penalty, if you're turning inside for a shot on goal and the defender stops that with his arm, it has to be) and when he was put clean through. Friedel saved well, but poor finishing really, I'd have been dissapointed to not tuck that one away.

Good result in the end and as with any Man Utd game, some brilliant flashes from Rooney. I'm really looking forward to the world cup, sod Sven, it's all about our current crop of players.

Man Utd 2 - Blackburn 1 (3-2 agg)

Roll on Wigan.

Should have been an easy win with the solid chances which were not converted. Good game nonetheless. I was just hoping Pedersen didn't score again, luckily he wasn't really their tonight.

I didn't think Rooney played too well, didn't think he was deserving of 'Man of the Match', I thought Darren Fletcher was fantastic. As were Ferdinand and Brown.

as long as Savage was punched I don't care who threw it ;)

good game, didn't think it was a penalty though for Van Nistelrooy but we deserved the win in the end. C'mon Vidic!!! The crowd gave him a warm welcome. Only downside was losing another midfielder to injury, Giggs and his damn hamstrings!

Finger crossed Brown sorted him out once he got in there. The ball boys at the end of the tunnel were doing impressions of a punch at least. Savage was very quiet second half though.

I think the lad deserves a rest. He looked tired at times tonight.

The tunnel incident at HT will undoubtably involve Savage. He was flattened twice in the 1st half and i have no doubt his cohorts Neill, Bellamy and Todd were with him when he alledgedly smacked Rio.

I think Savage gets a lot of undeserved hate. He can give it and can take it too, Don't see many players like that really these days.

Since when has be been able to take it? He just lays on the deck feigning injury as soon as someone turns on him.

Not really, today i think i saw him once staying down and that was when RvN smacked him in the back of the head with his knee after he slid over him, even then he got up pretty quick.

he did grab his leg half way through before changing to his head again. More the first leg really where he had rooney in a head lock, rooney shoves him in the chest/back to ge thim off and he lies there holding his face pretending he got a punch or head butt.

a lot of mancs on this forum from all over the country and further can i ask why is it you don't support your local clubs.
(just curious)

To be fair mate there are a few on here who do go to games and of those regulars I understand why some may not attend , given the treatment of this competion by the bigger clubs.

But on the other hand there was a fair few empty seats at the ground too.
Shouldnt have been hard to get a ticket for tonights games for some of the less regular OT attendees.

Oddly after Graham Poll uttered "Well, I've stopped the clock" when he refused to get up from Polls hand.

Because I've been supporting United for 13yrs, Northern Irish football isn't exactly what you'd call a high standard and is full of sectarianism.

My father supported Man Utd through their depression years and became a fanatic, it rubbed off as I was surrounded with Man U this and Man U that. I was then further put off by Middlesbrough fans who had a dig at my alliance saying "There's a (premiership) team on your doorstep" when they don't even go to the games themselves whilst claiming they 'support' them (you'll notice it's pretty synonumous with Middlesbrough as every week the stadia is empty).

I also go to games quite regularly, I will be going to the Fulham game on the fourth and already have my ticket for the Carling Cup final.

Why Man Utd then fella?
Any affiliation with them or is it the George Best thing?

Just curious , no sly digs :)
