Manchester United: Frustration

Were the rumours about Lippy coming to manu just rubbish? I really couldn't see him as a No2 under SAF, just as a good replacement.

But I have been hearing he plans to stay as Italy coach also.

I think united definitely need a new manager, he should have left when they last won the premiership. I think he is just waiting to win the premiership again before he leaves or champions league (never going to happen), but this really isn't going to happen.. It is going to be a fight to finish second with the current situation. I don't like him but it would be sad to see him booted out. But I really can't see him leaving and keeping his dignity too.

It'd just be great to see some Italians in the Premiership, as they are the one major European nation that are virtually not represented at all in the Prem

ALL Italian players in the WC squad plays in Serie A, only other team who's the entire squad play in the home national league is Iran. (or Saudi Arabia...can't remember which one)

You could have just as easy ended up with more egg on your pretty Italian face mind! ;)
It didnt though. :D
Im not too concerned if it went the other way. I have a rep of 0 in the sport section of this forum. So theres no face to lose for me. :p
Still though, its nice to be proved right every once in a while.

One can only hope about Ronaldo

As for G Neville I really think Neville had a poor season last year and would like an extended run for the ginger one

Yes, one can only hope he leaves and we get a big payoff and someone who's not so selfish on the ball.

Heinze wants to join Real Madrid apparently, would be a good signing for Madrid

Whatever they bid I don't want us to take it. He's one of our only players who sweats red.

The Lippi thing seems to have originated from one dodgy source, and was quashed publicly by the man himself. An English journo asked him if he was planning a move to OT and he said 'Seeing as I didn't even understand what you asked me without a translator do you really think I am ready to manage in England? No I will not be in Manchester next season'

United need a quality coach as a replacement.
Capello would have been ideal. Lippi would be good as well.

Does Heinze really want to leave Man Utd?
A league where he can be in the tackles, at a club where the fans worship him and voted him player of the year in the first season (over Rooney).

I think it's just paper talk.

Also, why do people want to leave us to go to Real Madrid all of a sudden? We are a better team!

Are you talking about Man Utd or Real Madrid there?
I know you know your stuff so I assume you are talking about Man Utd (or I would hope so).

Better wages, better history, better manager, better transfer dealings...

I agree on the wages side of things that Madrid can offer better wages across the board than we can. Yes we can do a few players at £100,000 a week but not a full squad. Saying that we don't have the Spanish King and the Madrid city council bailling us out ever time we get in trouble financially either

How do you define beter History ?? Purely by the number of European cups ??

Better Manager on what basis, Number of cups and Championships ?? Check Capellos record and SAF stands above Capello. 26 Trophys to Sir Alex Ferguson and 14 to Capello. Hows he the better manager. Bearing in mind Capello had pretty much all of his squads purchased for him at Milan, Juve & Madrid.

Better Transfer dealings ?? The policy of buying the Galacticos has been an abject failure at Madrid over the last few years so thats tosh as well

the transfer policy has been poor. but the way they have managed to conduct the business has been good.

capello better manager, more top players like him. SAF doesnt attract any big names...

better history, more euro cups... much better weather, its in Madrid, not manchester...support from the spanish king...

etc etc.. i think that any foreign player would be crazy to turn down madrid for UTD tbh

I know i'd rather go to Madrid over Manchester to play my football anyday.

I'm also really frustrated about how the club is going. I'm severely tempted to go glory hunting at Bolton Wanderers instead from now on! My hearts just not with Man utd at the moment.

Of course players like Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand, Juan Sebastian Veron, Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Japp Stam are all small time. Again how is Capello the better manager when he has achieved less in terms of major honours won ?

Arsenal are propbably in a worst position than us. Financially they are in a deeper whole relative to us. Another team in need of major surgery in the next twelve months or so

I don't agree at all. We will have more money than ever come in for every home game, just recieved £50m in prize money for last season. And a young team. I don't see the need for 'major' surgery. The core of this team could be together for the next 5 years.

You simply can't compare the two. Real are currently a better proposition in every way.

Taggart has lost the plot over the past few years whereas Real have addressed their lack of a top manager.
Taggart has failed to bring in any of his top foreign targets over the last few years. Real pull out all the stops for their managers.
manyoo have no money and a shedload of (admittedly serviceable) debt. Real will get bailed out again by the Spanish royal family if they are in debt.
manyoo have a current problem with playing staff not getting on, one from the world cup, one from last season.

And no-one hates Real ;)

I have to agree with Gooner14, Arsenal are in much better shape than Man Utd at the minute. If the midfield isn't strengthened and Ronaldo and RvN go as well, then I can easily see a finish outside the top four.

Why cant you compare the two ?? you obviously have done to make such a statement :D

You opinion that Fergie has lost the plot, is just that an opinion . You claimed that they have a better manager. Whats that based on ? Im sure if you ask most football fans what makes a great manager then surely one of the defining factors is what they have won. For example I never had any experience of the football under Bill Shankley but I knew he was a good manager because of the trophys he had won.

Managers in Spain and Italy have very little influence on the playing staff so its entirey true to say they pull out all the stops for the manager. Its more of he will no doubt have a very good squad to work to work with regardless.

Your right about the playing staff
