Manchester United: Frustration

I still don't know that you're right now, cos you're not :)

Duberry got mentioned because he was part of the squad, not because I rate him in the least bit.

He's better than Wes Brown though ;)

But then, so am I.

Ha! I know being stuck in the Championship must make you cling onto that distant past in the Premiership but your clearly more deluded than first thought.

I quite clearly won this arguement straight off by saying that in the season of your "better team", they tallied up less points and less goals scored and conceded more than the current squad last season. And most of all finished in a lower position that our current squad

So how on earth you manage to still say there better is beyond me. I know lot's of Leeds fans and there all stubborn, but at the same time, they dont make themselves look rather foolish by argueing such tripe. And if they do, they at least come back with stronger arguments than you have.

By the way, Mills never replaced Neville, he came on as a sub a few times for him. Wow, even more impressive when Neville was injured a fair bit that season. Mills must ooze talent to replace a cripple, the same sorta talent that got you in the Championship yeah?

You can carry on arguing if you want, i know you will as you like to think your always right. It keeps me highly amused so i dont mind :)

No I won't bother, if you have to get personal over it then you must know you have flaws in your argument. I can see them.

I admit I forgot about Carrick, but your aging squad with one or two glaring exceptions simply don't instill any kind of fear. On paper they simply don't match up. Its a shame you can't face up to that, but I don't really care :)

I agree to a point with Gilly.

man for man first elven stylee i would say leeds would have just pipped Man Utd that season

Robinson / VDS Closes call I would give the edge to Robinson as asome of his performances were just off the chart

Mills / Neville - Neville, better passer / crosser attacking

Ferdinand - Ferdinand - Er we'll call that equal them being the same player :p

Woodgate - Brown / Silvestre - Hell you can combine both and it still wouldnt be on a par with Woodgate.

Harte - Heinze - Heinze.

Bowyer - ronaldo - Ronaldo more Creative / scores more

Batty - Oshea - No contest Batty

er sorry Gilly I cant remember who the other CM was ? and after spending 5 minutes searching googel cvant find the info can you help me out here ?

Kewell - Giggs - I would rush to say Giggs here but I remeber Kewell having an absolute blinding sseason that year and although giggs has started well this year he has been a fading force for a fair few years now si on this season V then got to go with Kewell

Smith - Rooney - Well rooney.

Viduka - Saha - got to say again although Saha has started well this season Viduka was pretty much fantastic that year.

so thats 5-4 to leeds at present with me still not being able to remember leeds other CM that year ?

however overall I would say our squad this season is stronger than leeds, but our first eleven probably isnt.

There other CM was Dacourt.
And i would have thourght Bowyer scored more goals in that season that Ronaldo did last year, may be wrong though

Most of the time it was Olly Dacourt :) When Batty was out for the Lazio game (which Leeds won 1-0 away) it was Dacourt and Bakke.

[edit]Pretty sure Bowyer finished on 6 goals in the CL that season, most memorable one against AC Milan :)

Dacourt - Scholes / carrick - tough one that TBh but as based on this season I would have to go with Dacourt as well due to Scholes form being pretty bad and haven't seen enough of carrick.

so overall 6-4 to leeds imho.

I stand by the point that i think we have a better overall squad but first eleven wise Leeds of that season was better.

EDIT: ronaldo scored 9 last seaosn I think in the league and 13 overall, with one already this.

How has this thread turned into a thread comparing the current Manchester united team and leeds team from years ago? We had a better team then and we have a better team now end of :p

Too right. Certainly in the premier league, we were better, as our league position will bear out.

After watching today's game on match of the day, am I glad Ronaldo stayed on.

BTW, I dont follow Tottenham much, but was Carrick a sicknote there?

believe me its better us all getting it out in here rather than the in bickering and fighting of previous years when new situations etc arise :p

900 Ferguson sucks threads were not uncommon :p

Sun looks a good read tommorrow, apparently Hoeness called Hargreaves all sorts in front of the press and the Bayern squad yesterday and resulted in Hargreaves walking out............i can only see one result now.....Hargreaves getting what he wants.

Apparently Hoeness called him a prostitute

RE ronaldo, he had a very good run in at the end of the season, and was arguably the best young player in the world cup, and also has started fantastically this year already.
Ronaldo wasn't the best young player at the world cup.

He was the best player at the world cup!
