My system will max on gpu vram @ 3.95gb in BF4 on 2560x1600 mate.

No, it really uses that amount. As soon as I hit a little bit over 3GB, it starts to stumble here and there and if I continue to crank up settings that have a high memory footprint, the performance (full stop) gets worse, up to single digit numbers for 4xAA and HBAO at around 4GB vRAM.
BTW, 3x1050p, textures ultra, terrain and mesh on high, all the rest on medium and SSAO on. At those settings it sits around 2,6-2,7GB, with HBAO goes a little bit over 3GB and so it begins.

Other than that, it's fine, no crashes, no noting (well, that bug with the game running like a dog after applying a few settings up until the level is reloaded).
PS: Wasn't it that Mantle wouldn't require the memory to be mirrored, like CF under DX, meaning adding another 3GB card would actually mean 6GB available?
