Mantle vS 780Ti in BF4

Graph wars.

I still don't see the ridiculing of the Titan personally, even with Mantle.

But I do agree that on the sentiment of the settings not really being representative of what we'd run with these GPU set ups.

Thont mate, this is the funniest thing about this forum, some of us can take it just as much as we give it, but others start calling other people childish just because they don't agree or can't take a bit of witty banter, some of us stick to talking about the topic at hand without using words like stupid, you don't know what you are talking about, childish etc.

there is plenty of propaganda on both sides of the argument, some of us try to take a neutral view where possible, but there are plenty of dyed in the wool AMD supporters on this board that get really uppity when anyone tries to point out the flaws in certain aspects of certain things

overall is the idea behind mantle a good one? yes, low overhead API = good
however, are there flaws with AMD's current implementation? more so absolutely
will these get ironed out and improved? only time will tell

as to this threads original benches, yes I know plenty of people who run on high settings to get 120+FPS when they play competetively

Even being a Ti owner, first thing I took away from the article was the A10 performance, it's what Mantle is aiming to do, and eventually I'm sure high end products will make great use of it. The fact the Ti is frames up makes no odds as the experience in BF4 will be identical.

It just becomes, as someone already said - GRAPH WARGHZ! lol :D

Greg and Matt should setup a youtube channel, you could discuss (argue) with eachother about gfx cards and benchmarks and then fight each other with large foam graphs or something :)

It would save me some time reading your threads which seem to conclude the same way :D

Except not everyone own i7 4770K. Mantle would probably benefit people with i5 or below but with high-end graphic (i.e. i5/FX8 with CF290 on Ultra of single 290/290x on high on 120/144Hz monitor) setup the most when playing multiplayer online). But for pushing 60fps on 60Hz monitor, I would think Mantle wouldn't make too much of a difference, as the refresh rate would be the bottleneck, rather than CPU or GPU.

True, but it's an average frame rate. So if you look at it in the grand scheme of things, if you're able to push from 69 to 110FPS - this is a good indication of how much difference Mantle will make in more CPU limited games in the future. Battlefield 4 is the only proper comparative at the moment. But yes in the case of Battlefield it really doesn't matter. It's not really all that intensive, but it definitely is CPU limited so it's still a good show case for what they're showing.

Guys, I don't understand why everyone's getting in a huff, we all know Nvidia is superior and Mantle is just a substitute for inferior AMD processors, AMD owners know this, that is why they are so desperate to convince others AMD products are on par with intel and NVidia when in reality they have argued for so long that AMD can match NVidia they have actually started to believe it themselves.

It's rather like comparing two athletes where one is stronger than the other and giving the least strongest a course of steroids and saying see, our steroid athlete is best, have a day off Reds. :D

Nice troll

To be honest, I dont think Mantle is in any shape to be getting Benched at this time. It's very buggy and has massive performance spikes making it drop frames after some use.

Only when Mantle is Stable release I mean no crashing and no CPU spiking can we then test it against a very stable API like DirectX.

Until this all benchmarks are pointless to some degree. Basically not fair tbh.

Back from a delicious full breaky and a lovely cuppa:)

Greg just so you know, that Lt's benchmark results i posted were't using mantle, it was DX.

just did it again

Again this was with DX and not Mantle.
