I understand what 120Hz monitors are, and 100fps on 120Hz monitors is perfectly adequate.

So if I asked you. Chop I own a 144hz monitor and I play thief. To enjoy thief at its max settings while keeping close to 144fps.
What two GPUs is needed for that?
Should I go two 780ti's or two 290x

You're wasting your time Shankly. The results say more than we can ever say. This is the first Thief Mantle implementation as well on crossfire. It will get better.

I like it and it adds good immersion to Thief. Need to get it in other big titles now. Lichdom is the next game to support it, releasing soon. Crytek engine.

I really like it. Can tell the difference between on and off. But I also don't think thief has done it justice, not after hearing it on other games/demos.
But all in all its decent.

I posted a YouTube video with it on vs off can't link right now though.

I was agreeing with you, Mr Chops response was just being pedantic, he knew what you meant. I correct myself, I should have said "Pedant mode ACTIVATE"


Regarding True Audio, not tried it but if its anything like the dolby virtual surround sound you can get by using a little decoder to headphones, it will be fantastic, I swear by virtual surround sound.

Ace thanks guys, if Thief goes on a crazy sale I think I will punt on it just for that and the benchmark (benchmark is to pleasure Matt and his emails) :p

But input lag no thanks. High response time and motion blur? No thanks. If I wanted I could lock game to 120fps and have no tearing and still enjoy a much better gaming experience. Thanks to Mantle keeping my frame rate close to the refresh rate.

Honest question you tried 120hz?

Personally no, friend has one though, but I've not played with it at all.

It's a bit of fun, and at the end of the day, there's lots of points being raised and a lot of information being said so it may help others imo.
