Mantle is the harmony of three essential ingredients:
A driver within the AMD Catalyst™ software suite that lets applications speak directly to the Graphics Core Next architecture;
A GPU or APU enabled with the Graphics Core Next architecture;
An application or game written to take advantage of Mantle.
Mantle reduces the CPU’s workload by giving developers a way to talk to the GPU directly with much less translation. With less work for the CPU to do, programmers can squeeze much more performance from a system, delivering the greatest benefits in gaming systems where the CPU can be the bottleneck.

What is Mantle? Check this thread.
You can definitely use it with your setup and you will get a big fps boost and your gameplay experience will be improved greatly. So far Mantle works in two games, Battlefield 4 and Thief. Two further games are launching with Mantle support this month, Sniper Elite V3 and Plants Vs Zombies Garden Warfare. There is also a Mantle benchmark called StarSwarm. 20 other Mantle games are in development and will be released over the coming months. See the thread i linked above for further info.

Yes that would work with Mantle
It should all be explained in that thread i linked you to. All you need is a capable gpu (any Tahiti gpu - though Hawaii gpu's like you one you ask about below see the biggest performance boost) and the latest AMD drivers beta 14.6.
Sniper Elite V2 was a cool game i thought so looking forward to V3. Even more so now i know it's got Mantle support.

mantle is like direct x, only better, need a new (ish) amd gpu to make it work though.
in terms of turning it on for bf4 at least its just in the graphical options. it doesnt work on all games but the ones it does work on wheres the harm in free fps?

1. You certainly don't need it as its something you have never missed.
2. Don't go buying a 290 just for 2 games and 90% of the games in development would never be bought anyway. Plants Vs Zombies ? really ?
3. You can use it, but I'm sure i read the 7950's are horrible in BF4, that may be fixed with newer drivers though.
4. Thief doesn't need Mantle.
5. For the love of god, do not go buying games just because you can use Mantle.

8. Mantle is an AMD product... i.e. It will be broken forever, it will need patch after patch, and in the end, it promises so much and yet after months and months its delivering nothing.
9. Like Freesync, there is only a few cards supported.

Lambchop, Mantle would be great for 120HZ users. Just look at those minimum fps. Who doesn't like high minimum and average fps? Everyone loves those and this is what Mantle users can look forward to. Lets not forget these ridiculously consistent frame times Mantle offers which makes DX11 look and feel like a chore in comparison.

Fair enough. Any particular reason for jumping suddenly from "what's mantle?" To "I'm outski"?
ED: All you need to do is grab the latest drivers, change your settings in BF4 to use Mantle, restart the game and you're done.

If i was a moderator i would have deleted this thread at post 13.. its obvious its a troll thread and theres enough info about Mantle out there without having to start a new question about it.
