Firstly I’m new here and this is my first post; granted there are soo many problems with this PC please accept my apology if it is in the wrong part of the forum! But if anyone has even the smallest of suggestions it will be greatly appreciated!
I recently upgrade my motherboard and CPU due to some RMA issues and have been having several small issues to the point that it is now beginning to bug me, they are as follows:
1) The PC is randomly turning on when the PSU is left turned on and plugged in after being shut down.
2) At random times I will hear the hardware disconnect/reconnect noise as if a piece of hardware is quickly being unplugged and plugged back in again - mainly during gaming but sometimes just during normal usage.
3) The hardware disconnect/reconnect noise mainly happens when I am gaming and often after I've exited the game I receive an error message in the task bar "One of the USB devices attached to your computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it."
4) The front usb3.0 ports on my case do not function correctly when using usb3.0 devices – when copying files it stops mid-way through the process then the device becomes inaccessible and has to be removed and placed into the front usb2.0 port for it to function. Yet the rear usb3.0 ports work with no issue.
5) The optical disk drive randomly disappears from my computer and as a result does not physically work/respond when the open button on the front of the disk drive is pushed until the PC has been restarted; typically happens after gaming.
All my drivers are up to date as I have just re-installed Windows [7] to see if that would help eliminate these problems and it has not.
My previous system was:
CPU - Intel i5-3330 3.0GHz
Motherboard - Asus P8H77-m
Memory – Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR3 1600MHz
SSD – Kingston 120GB SSDNow
HDD – Seagate 1TB 7200RPM 6Gb/s
GFX - Asus HD 7750
I never experienced any of those issues, but the RMA was due to upgrading the case so I could have front usb3.0 access - which didn't work. Now I have seemingly opened a can of worms trying to obtain this, yet I am no better off even with more upto date components.
The current system spec is:
Motherboard – Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 5
Processor – Intel i5 4590 3.3GHz
Memory – Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR3 1600MHz
SSD – Kingston 120GB SSDNow
HDD – Seagate 1TB 7200RPM 6Gb/s
GFX – Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970
PSU – Corsair CX600W V2 ’80 Plus Bronze’
Case – Cooler Master Silencio 452
If someone somewhere has experience this or could shed some light on resolving any of these issues that would be nothing short of spectacular!
