No idea, this is the 2nd time it has happened. The last time seems to be carbon brake dust rather than a shard. Can't find any news reports on this latest one though.

I'm sure that some of the teams use highly reflective polish, just for this race.. and slightly metallic paint.

Nothing else would explain that 'shine'

well I think badoer must have been doing an outstanding job in that Ferrari. If Fisi can't get into to q2 and he has race experience with this years cars and so so much more experience. It shows badoer was doing a pretty decent job.

I don't know. Those are very bright lights and of course are not the same colour as natural sun. All the cars look amazing here.

There was little drama, but Button was running after receiving hospital treatment on Friday to have a tiny shard of carbon fibre cleaned out of one eye

Nothing apart from the massive lights shining down on the cars over the whole track.

Thats on the back of one race - What about Monza? Wasnt Badoer clean last pretty much every race, ha.

Looking at that on the BBC, the Renaults are taking turns 11/12 about 3kph faster than everyone else? Even Grosjean.

yes both races. and fisi isn't doing much better. remember that fisi has so so much more experience.
