Marks left on Screen

Hey guys, I’m using windows vista ultimate,

The sidebar is disabled, however its leaving a stain on the screen, when i print screen it doesn’t show, but shows permanent when I log into vista...

How can I fix this?

Could you take a picture with a camera?

Also what's your screen, gfx card.

My screen is GNR 17" Flat Screen,
My graphic card is BFG GeForce 8800 GT OC 512MB

I know for a fact its not the screen because i tried a differnt screen, it was still displaying the same mark..

Is your desktop ressolution correct , Thats not a stain !!

If it appears on a different monitor it must surely be a glitch on the background image.

Have you tried newer drivers or rolling back to older ones?

Might sound stupid but have you tried changing wallpaper?

my resolution is 1280 x 1024 at 32bit colour..

Yep i tried changing wallpaper still the mark is there.. how do i roll back to old drivers?

Btw, i had been using the same driver for a while then it appeared then i installed a new one as i though it would sort it..

Have tried booting in safe mode as I think this will load windows default drivers for your gpu or tried a different cable - vga or dvi.
Just a thought.

im using VGA atm what ill do il boot in safe mode,
please remind me how do you boot up in safemode with vista?

If you got a spare Graphics card, try that instead of your 8800 because that sounds like the prob to me.

When you remove the display drivers and reboot does it still appear?

Erm i dont have any spare graphic carrd however what is this remove display drivers?? how do i do that and do i have to reinstall the drivers again?

IM USING VISTA BTW
