Marussia F1 Auction

That's not their simulator. It's most likely something the staff, or guests, used. It's running a Lotus in rFactor1 FFS :D

They told us that it was used the previous season by Hamilton and Button. It was good fun whatever it was :)

Haha having googled it, it's nowhere close to what they use. It had 3 screens just in front of the cockpit and one mounted behind your head.

have seen a few offices with 'F1 cars' in reception and even a go karting place I went to a couple of weeks ago had a Ferrari F1 car mounted on the wall behind the main desk in the entrance... along with some helmets worn by famous drivers

does make you wonder how many of these cars were actual genuine F1 cars used in races and/or whether there is a market for just selling show/display models

They had it at the Goodwood festival last year. Bloody tough thing to drive and they very kindly stuck us driving Monaco :D

It was the same one used by the drivers, Hamilton set a time of 1:10, mine was 1:38..

Sorry, but lol :D

McLaren and their portable simulator :p

When I went on a tour of the Mclaren factory a couple of years back they said Marussia/Virgin were in a deal with them and shared their simulator and wind tunnel so suspect they probably never had a proper sim of their own.

i went there too it was amazing! the Mclaren mp4/4 i was in my element.

Remember that their 6-axis simulator got seized before Sochi, so that won't be in the auction as that was already taken and dealt with.

I would guess that the set up in that auction was purchased after Sochi when the team had no cash and just needed something till the end of the year.

LOL, just signed up, you never know.. something might go for normal money..

So 10% Buyers fee, 20% VAT on everything, and you have to sort out delivery at the Marussia factory, I'll obviously bear all that in mind!

I'm tempted by one of the race suits, although Charles Pic, Timo Glock and Max Chilton seem a few inches shorter than me so I don't think it'd fit.
