Marvel's The Punisher

I finished watching this on Friday night.
In the end, I was content with the story and how finished. As others had mentioned there were some dead parts.

I would have preferred it Frank had taken the job offer - he had finished his revenge path and saved the girl. There didn't seem to be any other reason for him to keep going but I guess they didn't know the other shows would be cancelled when it was on the story board.

I was hoping for a DD cameo.

see netflix has cancelled this along with jessica jones. pretty bummed i enjoyed this. i dare say it will get picked up elsewhere and i hope to god they have a better make up artist as some of it was cringeworthy particularly jigsaws 'scars' and franks injuries a few times.

Will the first 2 seasons still be available for a while though?

I've seen mention elsewhere that the characters are of limits for two years after cancellations so any hope of them jumping straight to Marvel + is gone if true and by the time said limit is up the actors will probably all be tied up on other projects.

I totally agree, he did an outstanding job.

Will probably be remade on the new disney streaming platform, I doubt disney will let it be a 18 again. I expect we will only have pg 15 at max in the future.

think disney said with deadpool they will keep it the same but the films etc will fall under the marvel banner or something like that. punisher would cease to be the punisher without the brutality.

Bob Iger referred to Deadpool specifically on a recent earnings call. Disney plans to keep the franchise going, but will use "careful branding" to avoid "in any way confusing the consumer".

I doubt The Punisher will be anywhere near Disney+. If they proceed with mature Marvel content, Disney will want to keep it away from the MCU stuff. Hulu would be more likely.

Will be interesting what they do with them but remember they have to wait 2 years for the contract rights to be offically back with Disney before they can even remotely use those character's again.

I still reckon Disney/Marvel are gonna reboot the whole lot, I don't think its gonna make sense if they suddenly integrate Fantastic four + X-men and the 1000 mutants into the Avengers universe, if they do somehow make them suddenly turn up in present existing Avengerverse then its gonna be wacky, plus most of the main Avengers are stepping down there roles and will be very hard to replace ie captain america and eventually iron man etc

Not sure that will get in the way really. The shows were filming up to a year before they aired. And before that, there's writing and pre-production to do. The whole process must be a good 18+ months, once Disney/Marvel decide what to do with the characters/shows.

Luke Cage Season 2 aired June 2018. The show was cancelled in August 2018. If they renewed the show tomorrow, it would be mid-late 2020 by the time it would be ready to air anyway.
